Vitra Akari 24N Table Lamp

The Akari 24N Table Lamp stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Isamu Noguchi's iconic Akari Light Sculptures series, first introduced in 1951. Crafted with meticulous care by skilled Japanese artisans, this luminaire embodies the timeless elegance and ethereal beauty of traditional washi paper. As Noguchi envisioned, the harshness of electric light is transformed into a soft, natural glow that harkens back to the luminosity of the sun.

Handcrafted from delicate washi paper, the Akari 24N Table Lamp exudes a sense of warmth and tranquility, making it a captivating addition to any interior space. Its minimalist yet elegant design features intricate folds and curves that create a play of light and shadow, casting a gentle, diffused glow that bathes the surroundings in a serene ambiance. Whether placed on a bedside table, desk, or sideboard, this luminaire serves as both a functional light source and a sculptural work of art.

More than just a source of illumination, the Akari 24N Table Lamp embodies Noguchi's philosophy of creating objects that harmonize with their environment and evoke a sense of contemplation and wonder.

‘The harshness of electricity is thus transformed through the magic of paper back to the light of our origin – the sun.’ (Noguchi)
