Verpan System 1-2-3 Lounge Chair

Designed by Verner Panton in 1973, the System 1-2-3 Lounge Chair embodies the designer's unmistakable flair for sculptural form and comfort. This fully upholstered, S-shaped swivel lounge chair makes a bold statement in any interior, combining a strong architectural silhouette with a genuine focus on usability.

It comes in two versions. The Standard has a lower, more compact back; the Deluxe extends it into the full sweeping curve the design is known for. Both rest on a brushed aluminium round base that grants smooth swivel movement while grounding the piece with a solid, elegant foundation.

Beneath the upholstery, a steel frame provides lasting structural integrity, while HR foam (Cal 117) ensures supportive comfort as standard, with CMHR foam (CRIB 5) available on request for contract projects. The chair is upholstered to order in a choice of six fabrics, one from each of Verpan's price groups — Kvadrat Remix, Kvadrat Re-wool, Kvadrat Hallingdal 65, Kvadrat Vidar, Dedar Karakorum and Kvadrat Argo. Sørensen leather is available on request.

The Deluxe measures 89 cm in height and 82 cm in depth, with a seat width of 59 cm and a seat depth of 45 cm; seat height runs from 34 cm at the back to 38 cm at the front, contributing to its inviting, ergonomic seating position. It weighs 20 kg and meets contract standard certification, making it suitable for both private and professional environments.

A design icon by one of Scandinavia's most visionary creators, the System 1-2-3 Lounge Chair brings sculptural confidence and lasting craftsmanship to any space, whether at home or within a considered commercial setting.
