Designed by Mikko Kärkkäinen and manufactured in Finland, this 1440 mm version showcases the natural beauty of solid wood, paired with a slender profile measuring H.35 x W.220 x D.110 mm at the canopy and a wood section of W.40 x H.40 mm. As with any solid wood piece, subtle variations in grain and tone are part of its organic character, and its hue may evolve gracefully over time.

At its core, the L 40 features advanced lens optics that direct light downward with precision, delivering soft, low-glare illumination thanks to a Unified Glare Rating below 19. With a color temperature of 2700 K, 3000 K or 4000 K and a color rendering index of Ra = 93, this pendant ensures crisp, true-to-life illumination well suited for both residential and contemplative commercial spaces. The energy-efficient LED source promises an impressive lifespan of up to 50,000 hours.

Control is made effortless through the integrated optional Casambi (Bluetooth) system, allowing continuous dimming via smartphone, tablet, or the Tunto EnOcean switch, without the need for additional control wiring. The fixture connects easily to a standard 2-wire ceiling outlet, with both canopy and connection sharing the same position for a clean, minimal installation.

Which optic should I choose?
Microprism — diffuses the light for the softest, lowest-glare result; the usual choice above desks and workstations.

Lenses — the most directional option, giving crisp, focused light; ideal over dining tables and kitchen islands.
