Sowden PL5 Portable Table Lamp

Designed by George Sowden, the Sowden PL5 Portable Table Lamp is a compact lighting piece built around a clever dual-functionality concept. Its small conical shade, crafted from silicone, measures approximately 13 cm wide and 18 cm high, giving it a soft, sculptural presence that suits both minimalist and eclectic interiors. The silicone material diffuses a warm, gentle glow while resisting wear, so the lamp retains its clean appearance over time.

At the heart of the PL5 is a USB connection that allows it to draw power directly from an outlet or from Sowden's own Li-ion batteries. Plugged in, it functions as a traditional table lamp; unplugged, it switches automatically to battery power and transforms into a fully portable light source, ready to move wherever it's needed. When switched off, the batteries recharge fully via USB in about four hours, ensuring the lamp is always ready for its next use.

The PL5 features an integrated Sowden LED disc light source with a warm 3000 K color temperature, offering dimmable illumination that can be replaced when needed, extending the lamp's usable life. Its versatile construction makes it suitable for both indoor spaces and outdoor dry environments, adapting easily to terraces, covered patios, or everyday interior settings.

Available in White and Multi, the Sowden PL5 combines thoughtful design with practical, flexible functionality, making it an ideal companion for those who value both style and mobility in their lighting choices.
