Sowden PL3 Portable Table Lamp

Designed by George Sowden, the Sowden PL3 Portable Table Lamp is the larger version of his celebrated Dual Functionality series, measuring 21 cm wide and 35 cm high. Its sculptural conical shade, crafted from ribbed silicone, gives the lamp a distinctive tactile presence while diffusing a soft, warm light that keeps its look over time. Each lamp ships with two shades included in the box, offering flexibility in style and use.

At the heart of the PL3 is Sowden's own LED disc 02 light source, delivering 15 W and 1000 lm at a warm 3000 K color temperature. The light is dimmable and replaceable, ensuring long-term functionality and ease of maintenance. True to its name, the lamp's dual functionality comes from its clever power system: connected via USB to a power supply, it operates as a traditional table lamp, while unplugging it automatically switches it to battery power, transforming it into a fully portable light source. Sowden's dedicated Li-ion batteries recharge over USB in approximately four hours when the lamp is switched off.

Built to perform both indoors and in dry outdoor settings, the PL3 combines thoughtful engineering with a refined, minimalist aesthetic. It is available in White / Chrome and Yellow / Red / Blue, allowing it to suit a range of interiors and personal styles.

A versatile lighting solution for the home, office, or outdoor living space, the Sowden PL3 blends technical innovation with the designer's signature clarity of form, offering dependable, adaptable illumination wherever it's needed.
