Serax Stella Side Table with LED Light

Stella is a striking side table by Ann Demeulemeester for Serax, designed around the interplay of geometry, shadow and integrated light. Three off-set, identical lacquered plates support a round tabletop, positioned so that they never quite meet. This subtle misalignment creates vertical slices of open space, through which a dimmable LED beam shines out, casting a soft, sculptural glow across the surrounding room.

Available in black, cream and orange, each colourway lends the light a distinct character and tone. The effect is never static: as natural and artificial light shift throughout the day, Stella responds in kind, becoming especially dramatic in low light, when shadows stretch and the LED glow takes on a more pronounced presence in the space.

Crafted from MDF and finished with a sprayed lacquer, Stella measures 73 x 73 x 61 cm and weighs 20.8 kg. It is intended for indoor, dry environments only. As with all pieces in the collection, slight irregularities may occur due to the hand-finished lacquer process — a natural mark of its craftsmanship rather than a flaw.

Stella belongs to Ann Demeulemeester's first complete furniture collection, developed with long-term partner Patrick Robyn and released in 2022. True to her design philosophy, the piece embodies a dialogue between strength and fragility, structure and nonchalance — a refined, timeless object that invites both contemplation and everyday use.
