Serax Rudolph Side Table

Designed by Vincent Van Duysen for Serax, the Rudolph Side Table L in Black/White is a refined study in proportion and material honesty. Part of the celebrated Rudolph collection, this freestanding side table was born from a fruitful collaboration between the designer and the brand, following earlier successes in tableware and outdoor furniture. Its name pays tribute to Rudolf Michael Schindler, a key figure of mid-century American modernism, whose architectural sensibility resonates throughout the piece.

Crafted from solid oak paired with a marble top, the table combines warmth and tactility with understated elegance. The contrast between the black and white tones highlights the natural grain and texture of the materials, while the clean lines echo the serenity that defines the entire Rudolph collection. As Van Duysen explains, the inspiration stemmed from a custom-made sofa he created for his own home in Portugal — translated here into a versatile, edition-ready design.

With dimensions of 105 cm (L) x 50 cm (W) x 23 cm (H) and a weight of 63 kg, this side table brings a substantial yet graceful presence to any living space. Designed for indoor, dry environments, it complements the Rudolph sofa range beautifully, whether placed alongside a two-seater or as a standalone accent piece.

As with many Serax designs, the Rudolph Side Table L is finished by hand, meaning slight variations in texture and tone are to be expected — a natural mark of authenticity and craftsmanship that makes each piece unique.
