Serax Rudolph Bench with Cushion

Designed by Vincent Van Duysen for Serax, the Rudolph Bench Three Seater in Smoke/Black brings a sculptural, mid-century sensibility to contemporary interiors. Named after Rudolf Michael Schindler, a key figure of American modernist design, the Rudolph collection translates Van Duysen's signature custom-made banquette pieces into a refined, editioned furniture line. Its proportions and quiet, grounded silhouette echo the serenity of a favorite sofa from the designer's own home in Portugal.

Crafted with a frame combining aluminium and wood, the bench is finished with a plush cushion upholstered in a custom-made Belgian fabric in a soft smoke tone, paired with a black-toned structure. The result is an organic, tactile piece that feels both substantial and inviting, suited to relaxed lounging or as a striking statement in an entryway or living space.

Measuring 93 cm in length, 112 cm in width, and 72 cm in height, and weighing 63.1 kg, the three-seater bench is intended for indoor, dry environments. The seat height is fixed and the piece is not modular, designed instead as a complete, freestanding element within the wider Rudolph collection, which also includes two-seaters, single-seaters, and coordinating side and centre tables in wood and marble.

As with many Serax pieces, the Rudolph bench is finished by hand, meaning slight irregularities may occur — a natural mark of its craftsmanship and individuality. A thoughtful addition for those drawn to considered, design-led furniture that blends comfort, texture, and understated elegance.
