Serax Ono 3 Sofa

Ono 3 is a striking sofa from Serax, designed by Ann Demeulemeester and Patrick Robyn as part of their first complete furniture collection. Conceived as an "active" piece of seating, it plays with proportions and expectations, inviting several different ways of sitting. Elongated lines, deep upholstery and tactile fabrics combine with an unexpected slant to the seat, giving the design a sculptural yet inviting presence.

The sofa hugs relatively close to the ground while resting on thick tulipwood legs: a solid wide plank with curved ends at the front, and two slender columns at the rear that rise up through indents in the seat upholstery, appearing to disappear into the back cushion. This unique construction results in a secure, supportive build that remains visually engaging from every angle — a detail that matters greatly in the 234-centimetre-long Ono 3, a piece substantial enough to stand freestanding within a room.

True to Demeulemeester and Robyn's distinctive aesthetic, the Ono 3 explores contrast between structure and nonchalance, strength and softness. The upholstery fabrics are woven in Belgium and exclusively developed for this collection, offered in a considered palette that includes Coco Natural, Coco Off-White, Licot Black, Velvet Fern, Velvet Grey, Velvet Mole, Velvet Rose, Velvet Shade, Velvet Tangerine and Velvet Teddy, paired with either a Tulipwood Stained Dark or Oak Natural frame.

Measuring 234 x 95 x 74 cm and weighing 102 kg, the Ono 3 is crafted from tulipwood with upholstered detailing, intended for indoor, dry environments. As with all pieces in the collection, natural material variation and handcrafted finishing are considered part of its individual character.
