Serax La Mère Starter Plate

Discover the Serax La Mère Starter Plate in Off-White / Black, a striking piece from Marie Michielssen's celebrated ceramic tableware collection. Each plate embraces an irregular, hand-moulded shape that reveals the artisanal process behind its creation, while the glazed finish lends it a refined, elevated character. The warm, near-black glaze contrasts beautifully with the broken white base tone, making this piece equally suited to everyday dining and more considered table settings.

Crafted from stoneware with a glazed finish, the starter plate measures 25 x 25 x 2.5 cm and weighs 0.83 kg. It is dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe, with a maximum oven temperature of 180°C, and is fully food-safe for confident daily use. Please note this item has a minimum order quantity of two pieces.

Part of the La Mère collection, this design pays tribute to the mother figure and to women across generations, reflecting on the intuitive, connecting role of shared meals within family life. Though the collection carries a nostalgic sensibility, its vertical structure and hand-finished detailing bring a distinctly contemporary edge. Each piece is unique, and slight irregularities are considered part of its individual character rather than a flaw.

Designed by Marie Michielssen for Serax, this starter plate blends heartfelt storytelling with everyday functionality, making it a meaningful addition to any table setting.
