Santa & Cole ASA Table Lamp

Miguel Mila is a renowned Spanish designer, inventor, and bricoleur, since the 1950s. His creations have stood the test of time and are relevant and useful even now. In post-war Spain, he founded TRAMO, short for ‘trabajos molestos’ (annoying works). ASA Table Lamp belongs to the first collection of lamps he developed for TRAMO in 1961. Now it is being recreated for Santa & Cole, a lighting and furniture design editor. It was founded by Javier Nieto Santa, Gabriel Ordeig Cole, and Nina Maso in 1985.They outsource the task of production to firms in and around Spain, and also to countries, like Japan.

Miguel Mila is fond of naming his creations unusually. ASA in Spanish means handle. Santa & Cole ASA Table Lampis aptly named because it is the handle that stands out in this design. The white cylindrical part of the lamp is the shade made of white translucent methacrylate. The handle is made of metal and is available in a variety of nonglossy finishes (Black / White). There is a metal button on the shade, which can be pulled to turn the lights on or off. The color of the switch and cord, match with the handle color. It can be lighted using an incandescent, fluorescent, or LED light. The whole white version appears divine and pure, while the original black variant contrasts with the white light and shade. The petite, urban design makes it a classic choice for lighting any area – indoor or outdoor.
