Rotaliana String W1 Wall Lamp

Designed by Dante Donegani and Giovanni Lauda in 2011, the Rotaliana String W1 Wall Lamp brings a distinctive kinetic character to task lighting. Its two extruded-aluminium arms are held in balance by an elastic cable sheathed in coloured fabric, allowing the lamp to flex and adjust with a fluid, almost sculptural movement. The moulded head rotates freely and is fitted with a touch-sensitive switch, making it simple to direct light exactly where it is needed and to control brightness with a single touch.

Conceived as a versatile reading lamp, String W1 pairs technical precision with a playful design language, making it equally suited to bedside reading, home offices or hospitality settings where both function and visual interest matter.

The lamp is available with a matt black or matt white structure, while the fabric-wrapped string can be chosen in orange, black or silver, allowing for a personalised contrast between body and cable. The light source itself can be specified as Tunable White, offering a colour temperature range of 2200 to 4000 K, or as Dim-to-Warm, ranging from 2500 to 4000 K, where the light naturally warms as it is dimmed for a softer, more intimate glow.

Technically, String W1 is equipped with a 9 W LED source delivering 700 lumens and a CRI of 90, ensuring accurate colour rendering for reading and close tasks alike. The driver is included, ensuring straightforward installation.

Combining Rotaliana's attention to craftsmanship with a distinctive structural design, String W1 stands as a versatile, expressive addition to any interior.
