Muuto Calm Wall Lamp

Wall Lamp with dim to warm function for the perfect ambiance at any moment

The Muuto Calm Wall Lamp, envisioned by the brilliant mind of designer Aleksej Iskos, transcends the realm of traditional lighting, offering a remarkable fusion of ambient illumination and sculptural elegance. It's not merely a functional fixture; it's a captivating work of art in its own right. Wrapped in a textile surface that delicately diffuses light, it creates a mesmerizing gradient from the lamp's periphery to its central light source. This innovative design empowers users to tailor the lighting temperature, from soft dimness to cozy warmth, crafting a serene ambiance that suits their preferences and needs. Encircling the lamp with finesse, a matte rubber band provides a crisp contrast to the lamp's organic form.

Aleksej Iskos is renowned for weaving functionality and poetry into his designs, achieving an exquisite balance between the technical and whimsical. Each of his creations narrates a story that tantalizes not only the senses but also the imagination. The Calm Wall Lamp, years in the making, epitomizes this philosophy. Drawing inspiration from nature and the concept of organic lighting, this lamp bathes its surroundings in versatile, diffuse light that caresses the senses.

The genesis of this idea was rather ordinary, as Iskos often finds inspiration in everyday experiences. While passing by a billboard light box at Copenhagen Airport, he was captivated by the extraordinary, gentle glow emanating from a textile-like material. This fascination led to the creation of the Calm Wall Lamp, a design rooted in nature intricately tied to Scandinavian design principles. According to Iskos, "Scandinavian design is characterized by its deep respect for nature in terms of materials and light. I wanted the Calm Wall Lamp to embody this, creating light that flows organically, untamed."

The Calm Wall Lamp is available in three distinct sizes, catering to diverse spaces and preferences, ranging from a modest Ø50 cm to a monumental Ø90 cm. The Ø50 cm version offers versatility with a Touch Dim button on the lamp and a plug-in cable, while also providing a hardwired option for dimming via a wall switch. In contrast, the Ø68 cm and Ø90 cm variants are exclusively available in the hardwired configuration. Regardless of the chosen size, the Muuto Calm Wall Lamp promises to be a beacon of both artistry and illumination, inviting you to bask in its serene glow and appreciate the seamless blend of design and functionality.
