Innovative design pendant lamp from the 1950s
Launched in 1953, Matégot's quirky design is still attractive and modern 70 years later. Satellite pendant lamp and floor lamp are characterised by his signature perforated metal blades, which he called Rigitulle, and the folding and shaping technique he used to turn them into an inventive range of furniture and home accessories. The name is a nod to the technological optimism and futuristic vision of the cosmos of the post-war era.
The perforated metal of egg-shaped lampshade allows the Satellite pendant lamp to emit diffuse and inviting light around the lamp. The hat on top directs light back down through the reflection of the white coating at the bottom of this shade. This creates an enchanting combination of light and shadow in the room and a magical glow when viewed from below.
The Satellite pendant lamp is fully equipped to withstand the weather elements. The stainless steel lampshade and aluminium hat have a special powder coating that provides extra protection against rust, water and wind. The LED bulb is built into a watertight polycarbonate shade that keeps the lamp safe without disturbing the emitted light.
