Gubi P3 Lounge Chair

The P3 Lounge Chair is a timeless piece of rattan craftsmanship, designed in 1964 by architect and designer Tito Agnoli for Bonacina 1889, the legendary Italian masters of rattan craft. The chair combines sculptural elegance, playful expression, and ergonomic comfort, formed from handwoven rattan strips fixed to a tubular steel frame. This construction represents the highest level of rattan craft, beautifully showcasing the material's natural warmth and texture.

Pulling directly from Bonacina's archival drawings, GUBI presents the P3 as part of a considered reintroduction of two rattan icons, meticulously adapted for today's appetite for indoor-outdoor fluidity. Whether placed in an indoor lounge, on a shaded veranda, or beside a pool, the P3 invites a slower rhythm of life and a closer connection to nature.

For many, the name Tito Agnoli is synonymous with rattan. Over the course of his long collaboration with Bonacina, Agnoli developed a rich and varied portfolio, taking full advantage of the brand's status as Italy's leading center of rattan craft. His pieces, from chairs and loungers to stools and tables, combine comfort and pragmatism while showcasing the full range of rattan techniques: bending, binding, weaving, and more.

Bonacina 1889 has shaped the story of rattan for more than a century from its home in Brianza, Italy's celebrated center of furniture making, collaborating with visionaries such as Gio Ponti, Joe Colombo, and Tito Agnoli. Together with GUBI, this living heritage steps into the present, united by a shared devotion to rattan as both craft and art form.

The P3 Lounge Chair is available with a rattan base finish.
