The A1965 Pendant Lamp by Gubi is Paavo Tynell's 1965 pendant in its brass edition. Tynell designed the 1965 Pendant in 1948 for the Finland House in New York, one of the most ambitious showcases of Finnish design ever staged, and it remains one of the pieces that made his name.
The lamp is characterised by its triangular perforation pattern, an artistic detail Tynell used across several of his lighting objects, and by the way he translated grace and lightness into brass. A frosted glass diffuser softens the light, so the pendant contributes a subtle, tranquil glow rather than a hard beam.
Hung alone over a side table or in a row above a dining table, the A1965 Pendant Lamp brings the distinguished craftsmanship of the Finnish designer into a contemporary interior. The suspension height is adjustable at installation.
