Faro Block 135 Grey Outdoor Wall Lamp

The Faro Block 135 is an outdoor wall lamp cast in solid concrete, designed by Àlex & Manel Lluscà. A short cylinder of Ø 14.7 cm projects 13.5 cm from the wall; an opal glass diffuser sits between the back plate and the front disc, so the light washes out sideways as a soft halo on the wall rather than as a directed beam.

The concrete body is rated IP65 and IK06, so it copes with rain, dust and knocks, and Faro rates the series for coastal locations where salt air normally attacks a metal luminaire. It runs on a standard E27 socket and takes a G45 bulb up to 15 W (LED recommended, not included) — so you choose the colour temperature and the brightness yourself, and with a dimmable bulb, whether it dims.

Block 135 is made to sit flat on a wall, but it can equally be fixed on top of a garden wall or a pillar, or placed on the ground, so one fixture can be repeated along a facade, a terrace or an entrance path. The raw cement finish weathers gently outdoors and sits naturally against render, stone and planting.
