Design House Stockholm Turn Candelabrum

Turn Candelabrum by Design House Stockholm is a striking study in reduction, designed by Maria Nyholm and Mikaela Midell. Three precisely bent steel tubes form a firm, sculptural framework that holds six candles at varying heights, creating a dynamic play of light and shadow that feels especially fitting during the dark Scandinavian winter. Born from a seven-week design assignment at Beckmans School of Design, the piece reflects the designers' commitment to environmental responsibility, favoring the reuse of steel over unnecessary ornamentation.

Each of the candelabrum's six arms conceals a hidden stop that holds the candles securely in place while preventing wax from entering the tubes. Silicon feet protect the surface beneath, and the powder-coated finish is fully environmentally friendly. The result is an elegant, industrial silhouette that lets the candles themselves take center stage, whether kept pristine or left to gather dripping wax for a more organic, contrasting effect.

Made entirely from powder-coated steel tubes, Turn embodies sustainability through simplicity: a single, easily recycled material shaped into an essential form. Its design echoes the Bauhaus philosophy of paring back until only the essence remains, making it equally at home in a modern interior or a more traditional setting.

Measuring 30.5 cm in width, 30.5 cm in depth, and 32 cm in height, and weighing 2.2 kg, Turn commands attention as a statement piece — whether placed on the floor or elevated on a pedestal. Available in Dark Blue, it brings a bold, sculptural presence to any space.
