Design House Stockholm Lotus Lantern

The Lotus Lantern by Design House Stockholm brings a warm, flickering glow to outdoor spaces during summer and autumn evenings. Designed by Kristina Stark, this hurricane lantern combines a clear glass tube with a slender, functional silhouette, making it equally at home on a garden table, terrace, or patio. It is suitable for use with regular candles or block candles, offering a flexible and atmospheric lighting solution for al fresco gatherings.

Crafted with a clear glass tube, a powder-coated steel handle, and a powder-coated aluminium base, the Lotus Lantern is built to withstand regular outdoor use while maintaining a refined, minimalist look. It is available in White and Black, allowing you to choose the tone that best complements your outdoor décor.

Measuring 44 cm in height with a diameter of 12 cm and weighing just 0.85 kg, the lantern is lightweight and easy to move around as needed, whether hung by its handle or placed directly on a surface. Simple maintenance is all it requires: wipe with a damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaning agents to preserve its finish.

The Lotus Lantern was born in 1998, when Design House Stockholm and Kristina Stark were commissioned to create a piece for a pop-up design store in Rosendal's garden in Stockholm, designed by architect Thomas Sandell. The result is this enduring, quietly elegant lantern—a piece that reflects the Scandinavian design tradition of combining functionality with understated beauty, perfect for creating a welcoming ambiance outdoors.
