Design House Stockholm's Layer Sideboard With Legs is a minimalist yet expressive storage piece, designed by Mathieu Gustafsson to stand alone or against a wall with equal confidence. Its geometrically exposed slits do away with handles entirely, offering small openings that let you slide the doors open or shut while hinting playfully at what treasures lie within. Is it a peeping gnome, or a prized piece of ceramics? The design invites curiosity at every glance.

The exposed grain of the oak veneer, set in alternating horizontal and vertical patterns, creates a distinct graphic rhythm across the surface. Built on a base of massive oak with clean lines and remarkable lightness, the sideboard balances voluminosity and precision in equal measure. This distant cousin to Gustafsson's earlier Air cabinet reinterprets a familiar furniture typology with a contemporary yet timeless sensibility, equally at home in a private residence, an office, a hotel lobby, or a restaurant.

Crafted from FSC™-certified solid oak, with MDF and polyurethane-lacquered FSC™-certified oak veneer, the sideboard measures 120 cm in width, 40 cm in depth, and 101 cm in height, weighing 45.5 kg. Simply wipe with a damp cloth to keep it looking its best.
