Axis71 Christophe Gevers CG01 Limited Edition Table Lamp
Détails du produit
This iconic table lamp was designed in 1968 for the legendary Brussels brasserie "Le Cap d'Argent," which opened its doors in 1959 and quickly became a beloved gathering place for the local cultural elite. The building was purchased and the project funded by his aunt, a passionate art lover and patron. Christophe Gevers, a pioneer of modern Belgian design, not only took charge of the lighting but also designed the entire interior, bringing together form, function, and timeless elegance.
The lamp, originally executed in its classic red color, has evolved into a symbol of refined simplicity. This design has been reinterpreted by some of the most prominent contemporary designers and art institutions, including Edouard Vermeulen (Natan), the CAB Foundation, Isabelle de Borchgrave, Caroline Notté, and Valérie Barkowski. Each of these reinterpretations received a unique artistic touch, employing modern techniques and materials to preserve the original spirit of the design while exploring new aesthetic dimensions.
Released in strictly limited and numbered editions, these special editions have become highly sought-after collector's items. The lamp has since achieved the status of a design classic, embodying the perfection of timeless Belgian craftsmanship and artistic innovation.
