Anglepoise Original 315 Desk Lamp Navigation Edition

The Anglepoise Original 315 Desk Lamp Navigation Edition draws its heritage from a purpose-built archive design first developed in the 1940s for navigators working at chart tables aboard long-range maritime patrol aircraft. That legacy of precision and reliability has been carefully re-engineered for the modern desk, studio and workspace, retaining the disciplined, functional character that defined the original piece.

This edition introduces a polished aluminium shade paired with matte black components, resulting in a striking contrast that feels both industrial and refined. A compact square desk base ensures a stable, space-conscious footprint, making it a natural fit for desks, drafting tables and creative studios alike.

Setting it apart from other lamps in the Anglepoise range, the Original 315 is fitted with a GU10 spotlight source, delivering a brighter, higher-intensity beam ideally suited to focused task lighting. Whether used for detailed planning, technical work or creative direction, it provides the clarity and precision demanded by exacting tasks.

Practical details reinforce its working heritage: a rear metal note clip and a polished front pen holder attach directly to the base, transforming the lamp into a compact command station for desk-based work. It arrives complete with a matching notebook and pencil, underscoring its role as more than just a light source — a considered tool for precision, organisation and craft.

A faithful reinterpretation of a maritime original, the Anglepoise Original 315 Navigation Edition brings authentic design history into the contemporary workspace.
